The Festival of Nations in PetrSU
International students of PetrSU presented their countries’ culture. These are students who came to Petrozavodsk State University from Africa, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, China, India, Armenia, Latin America (Ecuador and Colombia), Jordan and other countries.
Students sang songs in their native languages and performed national dances.
The first Festival was held in 2018 with the participation of representatives from 14 countries. This was the third Festival, and this time it gathered together the representatives of 24 countries. Volunteers of the International Agency "SLOVO" and the student club "Mir" helped to organize and hold such an event.
I’m so happy that even a few years later we were able to organize such a large-scale event that brought together students from different countries. All performances were vivid and beautiful, but most importantly, each country put their soul into the event. And I think it is very important that at our university we have such an opportunity for all international students to present their cultures. It's great that our audience greeted all the participants so warmly, and all this together created an atmosphere of real international friendship,
- says Anna Soboleva, the head of International Agency “SLOVO, the Festival organizer and specialist of the Preparatory Faculty.
Marina Gvozdeva, the head of the Directorate for International Affairs:
The students did a great job, all the performances were very carefully done, it was interesting to listen and to watch. All performances were full of love for their homeland. Everyone had magnificent national costumes. The participants and the audience had great vibes.
The international agency "SLOVO" unites students from all over the world, regardless of nationality, age and major.
Currently, about 600 foreign students from 48 countries study at Petrozavodsk State University.
