Cooperation with Malaysia in the Field of AI
On March 10, the representatives of the INTI International & Colleges, specializing in advanced AI technologies in Kuala Lumpur and Pekan Nilai, held a working meeting.
Since 1991, Malaysia has been successfully implementing the Strategy for the Development of Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence. The country has special measures to support IT, which are backed by national legislation. This year, Malaysian artificial intelligence technologies have been already actively applied in the business sphere, healthcare, judiciary. Cooperation with Malaysia gives PetrSU access to the electronic component, special equipment, technologies and the best experts.
On behalf of PetrSU, the meeting was attended by Alexei Marakhtanov, Director and Scientific Supervisor of the Artificial Intelligence Center, and Alexey Rogozin, the Head International Project Division.
The discussion of cooperation will focus on 5 issues:
- Video analytics, image recognition by photo and video;
- Natural language text processing, a combination of AI technologies and mathematical linguistics;
- Big data analytics;
- Technologies of VR;
- Internet of things.
During the negotiations, the parties found points of mutual interest and reached an agreement on attracting industrial partners that will be a link between PetrSU and the INTI consortium. In the future, the parties plan to open a joint laboratory, launch academic mobility and joint research and publication of scientific articles.
