PetrSU Participation in the Eurasian Peoples’ Assembly in the Republic of India
The Eurasian Peoples' Assembly is an International Union of Non-Governmental Organizations who share and promote the ideas and values of Eurasian integration, protection of peace, strengthening friendship, harmony, partnership and good neighborliness between peoples.
PetrSU participated in the Assembly activities for the first time. Marina Gvozdeva, the Head of the Directorate for International Affairs, was invited to the Assembly to represent PetrSU. During a meeting with Jawaharlal Nehru University, India's leading university, Vice-Сhancellor Professor Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit outlined the main activities of the university, its high positions in international rankings, educational schools and research centers as its facilities. The Russian delegation introduced the hospitable hosts to the features of the Russian universities and NGOs.
On March 21, the hosts conducted an International discussion platform "The Role of Public Diplomacy in the Formation of New Models of Eurasian Partnership" at the School of International Studies of Jawaharlal Nehru University.
The international platform was attended by representatives of non-governmental organizations of Eurasian countries - civil society institutions, scientific and educational institutions, experts from India, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Russia and other countries.
Marina Gvozdeva also participated as an expert.
In her speech, Marina Gvozdeva emphasized the importance of academic and scientific mobility of lecturers and students in order to develop public diplomacy, spoke about the traditional formats of student exchange and mobility at PetrSU, encourage partners from Eurasian countries to promote mobility, virtual and domestic internationalization, to look for new solutions for sustainable interaction in the Eurasian space.
For example, PetrSU scientists within the framework of numerous international projects have accumulated extensive information about Northern Europe, and now research is being actively carried out by the Arctic Center of PetrSU, forming a big database.
It can become a reliable basis for joint comparative research, including the search for a modern approach to the phenomenon of Eurasian identity, together with the Centre for Russian and Central Asian Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University. At the Center for Russian Studies, SLL&CS and SLS of the University, participants reached an agreement with Dr. Saini Sonu on the development of cooperation in the field of teaching the Russian language and culture. Speakers and participants discussed new formats of public diplomacy, shared best practices for the development of integration processes and experience of interaction between countries and peoples in the Eurasian space.
On the same day, the organizers, together with BRICS CCI Young Leaders, held the International Round Table on the following topics:
- New generation of Eurasia: development prospects;
- SCO - BRICS - EAEU: youth dimension;
- Youth project exchange;
- Mechanisms and areas of cooperation in the new era;
- Interuniversity cooperation;
- International volunteer cooperation;
- Cultural integration of the youth of Eurasia;
- Eurasian youth associations as an effective mechanism for involving youth in integration processes.
