International Summer Programming Camp Opened at PetrSU
From August 24 to 31, the traditional International Summer Sports Programming Camp are held at the main building of Petrozavodsk University.
Summer and winter sports programming camps are the largest international student programming camps, attracting the strongest teams from the world's leading universities twice a year.
Teams from universities in Russia, CIS countries and foreign countries take part in the training camp. Foreign programmers can participate remotely.
Teams from Kazakhstan, China, and Bangladesh take part in the competition online.
Teams from PetrSU, Higher School of Economics, St. Petersburg State University, Moscow State University, ITMO University and other universities will take part in person.
A total of 58 teams are participating in the training camp, 40 in an online format.
Associate Professor of the Department of Computational Mathematics, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Pavel Mandrik, coach of teams from Belarus:
“Today we arrived in Petrozavodsk at 10:40, and at 11 o’clock we were already at the training camp. The students came for the first time, and this is not my first time at the training camp. Our contacts with Petrozavodsk University have been going on for a decade. Experience shows that most of the teams that took part in programmer training camps here at PetrSU reached the finals of the World Programming Championship and won medals. We hope that this participation will be a successful start for these teams as well.”
PetrSU programming camps replicate the conditions of the competition at the ACM ICPC World Programming Championship. This applies to the level of complexity of tasks, regulations and daily routine - five hours every day to complete tasks.
Programming camps held at Petrozavodsk State University are considered one of the most prestigious, providing an opportunity to qualitatively prepare for performances at the World Programming Championship.
Petrozavodsk State University is represented by 2 teams:
Petrozavodsk SU: (Arseny Grzhibovsky, Kirill Krishtal, Evgeny Smirnov).
Petrozavodsk SU2: (Dan Roitburd, Anton Lavrov, Nikita Anisimov).
