PetrSU Team Is the Winner of the Programming Championship ContestSFedU-2024
As part of the ContestSFedU championship, three tournaments were held: personal tournaments among schoolchildren and students, as well as the central tournament of the championship - a team tournament, in which schoolchildren, students, and experienced IT specialists could take part.
The participant was given the task of writing a program that performs certain actions. Examples of input data and results that the program should produce were given. Next, the participant wrote program code on the computer and sent it to an automatic testing system, which, using a package of tests unknown to the participant, checked for a match with the correct results. If the program passed all the tests, then the problem was considered solved and counted.
Following the results of the competition in the team tournament, the PetrSU team, which included students from the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies Igor Koshkarev, Kirill Krishtal and Evgeny Smirnov, became the absolute champion.
Kirill Krishtal spoke about his team:
“The composition of our team was formed only two months ago, but each of us has been individually involved in sports programming for several years. We really like the sports component, mathematics and algorithms.
Having participated in sports programming competitions during my school years, I realized that it was interesting and exciting. In my opinion, the ContestSFedU championship format ensures objectivity in assessing the abilities of participants.
Each of us dreams of making it to the finals of the International Student Programming Olympiad (ICPC).
The 8th Open Championship of the South of Russia - the 18th Olympiad of the Southern Federal University in programming ContestSFedU-2024 was held in Taganrog on the basis of the Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security.
The event was held with the aim of increasing the level of training of students, schoolchildren, IT specialists in the field of modern information technologies and programming, as well as with the aim of identifying and developing students’ creative abilities and interest in scientific (research) activities, and promoting the professional guidance of schoolchildren.
