Indian Students Visit Medical Laboratories
The teaching staff of the Department of Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy gave an introductory tour of the Laboratory of Preclinical Studies, Cytopathology and Bioregulation. The students learned about the laboratory's scientific and educational work, its traditions and practices and saw the researchers' developments. During the excursion the key focus areas in pharmacology, ecology, and gerontology were introduced.
Participation in the career guidance quest enabled the foreign students to find out what scientists' work in laboratories is like.
Doctors and Chemists Accreditation Center of Medicine Institute trains students majoring in pharmacy. The Indian students immersed themselves in life of students studying pharmacy and learned more facts about a pharmacist's duties and competencies.
During the role-play the participants dealt with different situations which a pharmacist's job involves: they accepted goods, conducted prescription reviews, consulted and informed customers, dispensed medications, ensured quality control etc. At the 'Pharmacist-Technologist' station, the students practiced preparing medications, packaging and labeling medications, and filling out a written control passport.
These trainings were aimed at developing scientific work with international students. The students expressed their gratitude for the interesting excursions and willingness to attend similar events in the future.
