French Language Song Festival
The French-language Song Festival is aimed at maintaining interest in studying French in Petrozavodsk and has been held regularly since 2017. The main participants, of course, are talented students of the Institute of Foreign Languages, but not only. Some PetrSU graduates present a new repertoire every year, and sometimes surprise with the creation of unexpected duets and groups, for example, the family duet of Svetlana Zel-Denisova, which previously performed in the mother and son format, this year appeared in the company of mother and daughter, as well as the group "Cherchez la femme" ("Look for a woman"), which changed several line-ups.
Despite the fact that this year the organizer N.S. Barymova, Head of the Francophone Resource Center of the IFL PetrSU, changed the format of the competition to the festival, the performances of the participants were assessed by a jury consisting of: O.A. Veselovskaya, Senior Lecturer of the Department of German and French Languages, D.V. Shalaeva, Teacher of the "Art of Theatre" Department of the Petrozavodsk Children's School of Arts named after M. A. Balakirev, Teacher of the Karelian College of Culture and Arts named after Hero of the Soviet Union A. M. Lisitsyna and D. R. Gasanova, Deputy Director for scientific and methodological work, Teacher of the highest qualification category in the classical guitar class of the Petrozavodsk Children's School of Arts named after M. A. Balakirev.
Within the framework of the festival, the jury did not distribute places or determine the winner, but awarded each participant a Diploma of the winner in a certain nomination, for example, "For a touching reading of a musical composition", "For a complex and bold choice of repertoire", "For high singing culture", etc.
International students - Francophones of PetrSU, who came to study Russian at the Preparatory Department for further admission to various institutes, also came to support the festival participants.
The evening of songs in French was held in a warm, friendly atmosphere and all participants expressed a wish to continue the tradition of holding it in the future.
