Internationalization of Education
The implementation of the program became possible thanks to the joint efforts of specialists from the Faculty of Advanced Training and Professional Retraining of PetrSU and the Directorate for International Affairs of PetrSU.
The additional professional development program was developed by the Head of the Directorate for International Affairs M.S. Gvozdeva.
The program participants included employees of the Directorate for International Affairs, the Registration and Visa Department, the Preparatory Faculty, the Facilities Administration, the Center for Postgraduate Education of the Zilber Medical Institute, deputy directors of PetrSU institutes for educational work and teachers working with international students.
Experts in the field of international activities and migration registration spoke to the audience. During the training, the attendees studied materials on state policy in the field of education export, modern trends in the process of internationalization of higher education.
Head of the Registration and Visa Department of PetrSU Ilya Olegovich Popov told the audience about the requirements for registration of migration documents for inetrnational students, teachers and employees of the university.
In the series of lectures by M.S. Gvozdeva, special attention was paid to issues of psychological and pedagogical support of the processes of socio-cultural adaptation in the educational environment and the formation of intercultural communicative competence of teachers and employees.
Leading specialist of the Academic Mobility Department of the Directorate for International Affairs of PetrSU Alexandra Valerievna Khannanova acquainted the listeners with information about the cultural, social and religious characteristics of students from India and emphasized the importance of understanding these aspects for effective interaction with Indian students.
Valentina Yuryevna Sverbil, an employee of the Main Directorate for Migration Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karelia, gave a lecture on current issues of migration legislation and the legal status of foreign citizens, and also presented proposals for improving the coordination of work with foreigners at the university in order to avoid possible violations. The attendees familiarized themselves with the current regulatory and legal acts of the migration legislation of the Russian Federation, with statistical data on the migration situation in the Republic of Karelia.
Training under the program "Regulatory and legal support for the training of international students in higher education programs" allowed the audience to gain deeper knowledge and practical skills in the field of support and socio-cultural adaptation of international students.
