PetrSU Students Will Take Part in the Final of the International Collegiate Programming Contest

Among them is a team of students from the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technology of PetrSU. The PetrSU team includes Igor Koshkarev, Evgeny Smirnov, Nikita Anisimov. The coach of the PetrSU team is Ruslan Valerievich Alkin, Deputy Head of the PetrSU Programmers' Creativity Club.

The Head of the Programmers' Creativity Club is Vladimir Alekseevich Kuznetsov, Professor of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Cybernetics of the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technology.

The finals of the 49th International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC 2025) will be held from August 31 to September 5 at ADA University (Baku). ICPC is the most prestigious team programming competition in the world among students. Several hundred of the strongest student teams from all over the world will participate in the finals together with the PetrSU team.

The main goal of the competition is to solve algorithmic problems using code under limited time conditions with a minimum number of errors and incorrect attempts.

Over four decades, ICPC has become an innovative global educational program. The ICPC community, numbering more than 400 thousand university graduates, covers the entire world. Last season, 73,083 students with 12,258 coaches and co-coaches at 3,424 universities in 103 countries took part in regional competitions, seminars and ICPC away competitions.

Petrozavodsk State University has one silver and two bronze medals of the International Collegiate Programming Contest.
