New Undergraduate Course in Linguistics at the Institute of Foreign Languages
The program prepares professionals in the field of the English language media space and intercultural communication. Students will master two foreign languages at a level that enables them to work with authentic written and spoken media texts, their comprehension, abstracting and reviewing, analysis and selection of materials from foreign-language media on current topics.
WHAT YOU WILL STUDY
In the course, you will study subjects such as media fundamentals, media discourse in international communication, media production and the use of AI technologies in the media space.
Case studies will aim at reviewing and assessing texts of foreign-language media (content analysis, sentiment analysis), typology of media texts, media production and information retrieval in foreign-language media.
The curriculum includes modules aimed at the study of two foreign languages and the cultures of those languages, as well as linguistic disciplines that allow for the evaluation of foreign media. A methodological module prepares graduates for working as tutors in the system of supplementary education.
