RAGTIME Studio of Competitive Ballroom Dancing

The Ragtime Studio of Competitive Ballroom Dancing is a fast developing group that is held in high esteem among the students and the employees of Petrozavodsk State University, as well as the citizens of Petrozavodsk. Every year around 50 students join the studio and learn about this amazing combination of sports and art that is a ballroom dance.

The Ragtime dancing club is the regional representative of the oldest Russian professional dancing organization Russian Dancing Union in the Republic of Karelia. Under the aegis of the Union, the studio annually holds two major tournaments in competitive ballroom dancing in Karelia – KareliaOPEN and The Star of Karelia. Many children and students pairs form different cities of Russia come to the Republic to take part in the tournaments.

Achievements

• The prize-winners of the International Festival of Creative Youth and Students;
• The prize-winner of the Public Recognition Award;
• The diploma winners of the International Festival-Competition of Children, Youth and Student Art Groups;
• The members of the studio get through to the final rounds and become prize-winners at All-Russian and republic-wide competitions in ballroom dancing.
