PetrSU Welcomed Ambassadors of the EU countries to the Russian Federation
The meeting convened representatives of 20 countries.
Every year the European Union and neighboring countries celebrate the European Cooperation Day.
In the framework of the EC Day, an international delegation visited Petrozavodsk State University. Among the participants of the meeting were the EU Ambassadors to Russia, teachers, employees, and students of Petrozavodsk State University.
At PetrSU the international delegation was welcomed with a performance by the Toive folk music ensemble.
The Vice-Rector for International Affairs Marina Gvozdeva told the guests about the structure and international cooperation of Petrozavodsk State University.
During the meeting, everyone could ask the members of the delegation questions. PetrSU students inquired about the demand in Russian specialists in Europe, what it is like to pursue a career of a diplomat or an ambassador, the popularity of Russian education, historical, political and economic events and trends, cinema, etc.
“The visit to Petrozavodsk State University was included in the program of our visit for a reason. The university is involved in the development of cross-border cooperation, international relations, future. We are eager to meet the students and learn what issues concern and interest them,” said the members of the delegation.
The students of the Institute of Foreign Languages (program “English and French Languages”) shared their impressions.
Aleksandra Burianina, student of the Institute of Foreign Languages:
“I think it is unlikely for citizens of the European countries to have this unique chance to talk to the EU ambassadors in an informal setting and ask any question. And here were we, lucky to spend a short but eventful hour with the interesting guests.”
Tatiana Sosunkevich, student of the Institute of Foreign Languages:
“It was amazing to meet the EU Ambassadors to Russia and have this opportunity to ask them a question and hear the answer. I saw that they were interested in communication with students. I thank the organizers for this wonderful opportunity!”
The meeting was held in the English language.
The employees of the Scientific Library of PetrSU prepared a book exhibition “European Union”.
