PetrSU Students –Winners of Contest for Students Learning National Languages
The students who study the Karelian, Veps or Finnish languages, as well as ethnographic studies, at the educational institutions of higher education in the Republic of Karelia, took part in the official award ceremony.
The event featured the Minister for National and Regional Policy of the Republic of Karelia Sergey Kiselev.
He highlighted the importance of these contests for the encouragement of educational, research and creative activities of students, as well as their participation in social and public endeavors.
The award in the nomination Finnish Language went to Mariya Yakinshina, the 3rd year student of the Department of Baltic and Finnish Philology of Petrozavodsk State University. Consolation prize for studying the Karelian language was awarded to the 3rd year student of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Petrozavodsk State University Irian Chakkoeva.
The winner of the nomination Veps Language was the 4th year student of the Department of Baltic and Finnish Philology of PetrSU Elizaveta Makarova.
