Belomorsk Petroglyphs: Past, Present, Future
PetrSU students visited Belomorsky district.
The project Belomorsk Petroglyphs: Past, Present, Future is the winner of the grant contest of the Federal Agency for Youth affairs. The project aims to introduce young people of Petrozavodsk to the historical heritage of the Republic of Karelia.
During the trip, ten PetrSU students visited the Petroglyphs, as well as took a tour to the White Sea-Baltic Canal and the city of Belomorsk.
“Karelian North astonishes with the beauty of its nature and the fortitude of its people. We want more young people to know that our Republic has many sights of interest with a rich history and preserved distinctiveness. We are happy that the project sparked interest among students who wanted to go on the tour (we even have to select candidates). We hope that such tours become a tradition, of course, supported by Petrozavodsk State University,” says Vladimir Bogdanov, the project manager, graduate of the Institute of History, Social and Political Sciences of PetrSU.
