PetrSU Teachers Participated in the International Online Conference
Natalia Patroeva, the Head of the Department of the Russian Language, and Tatiana Pashkova, the Head of the Department of Baltic and Finnish Philology, participated in the 4th International Scientific Conference Uralo-indogermanica. It took place at Narva College of the University of Tartu on October 16-17, 2020.
The conference was held via Skype.
The conference program included reports prepared by specialists in various fields of philology: literary scholars, linguists, folklorists, music scholars, historians, ethnographers, ethnologists, archaeologists. During the plenary and sectional sessions, participants engaged in discussions on the comparative aspects of the Finno-Ugric and Indo-European languages and ethnic groups issues.
Doctor of Philology Natalia Patroeva and Doctor of History Tatiana Pashkova represented Petrozavodsk State University with a report devoted to the Composition and semantics of conjunctions in the Karelian language Livvik dialect in the aspect of linguistic contacts. As result, the proceedings will be published with inclusion in the Russian Science Citation Index database.
The report made by Natalia Patroeva and Tatiana Pashkova is a part of a comparative typological study of the means of syntax communication used in the Livvik dialect of the Karelian language. The issue has been studied in detail within the scientific article on Connectors of a complex sentence (in the case of the Karelian language Livvik dialect). The article will be published in the journal Bulletin of Ugric Studies (Scopus), the 3rd issue in 2020.
«The research laid the foundation for further cooperation of the Department of Baltic and Finnish Philology, the Department of the Russian language and the employees of the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Karelian Research Centre of the RAS in the field of the Karelian and Russian languages syntax», said the scientists.
