The Institute of Medicine of PetrSU will Train Specialists for Indian Healthcare System

On February 4, 2021, the representatives of the PetrSU administration and the Directorate of the Institute of Medicine held a working meeting with colleagues from India. The agenda covered the admission to academic programs in English at the Institute of Medicine.

On February 4, 2021, the representatives of the PetrSU administration and the Directorate of the Institute of Medicine held a working meeting with colleagues from India. The agenda covered the admission to academic programs in English at the Institute of Medicine. 

The meeting focused on the contents and delivery of academic programs, the readiness of the Institute for students’ admission to academic programs in English. 

Vice-rector for International Affairs Marina Gvozdeva outlined the main objectives of cooperation regarding the admission to programs in English of the Institute of Medicine, spoke about the preparations of the employees of PetrSU and the Institute of Medicine for Indian students’ admission, and mentioned the PetrSU intention to further work on designing the academic programs in English. 

Deputy Director for Undergraduate Education Marina Shubina talked about the stages of training the healthcare professionals - doctors and pharmacists, conducted an excursion around the theoretical building of the Institute of Medicine, the Accreditation and Simulation Center. She presented the libraries, classrooms, training equipment of the Institute and assured the Indian representatives in their intention to recommend PetrSU as an educational platform, which provides medical specialists training for the Indian healthcare system. 

Deputy Director of the Institute of High Biomedical Technologies Professor Aleksandr Meigal told the Indian guests about the research activities, scientific laboratories and the achievements of the staff of the Institute of Medicine as a vital asset when describing the level of the faculty and the role of research developments in academic programs implementation, students admission process and building the research competencies of graduates. 

All the participants were extremely satisfied with the prospects for cooperation and are looking forward to effective joint activities with PetrSU in training medical specialists for the Indian healthcare system.
