New Textbook for Students
PetrSU Publishing House published a new textbook New Coronavirus Infection Covid-19 for the 4-6th year students of the programs General Medicine and Pediatrics.
The authors of the textbook are the Associate Professor of the Department of Faculty Therapy, Phthisiology, Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology, Candidate of Medical Sciences Tamara Filatova; senior teacher of the same department Liudmila Kalinichenko; Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Faculty Therapy, Phthisiology, Infectious Diseases and Epidemiology Tatiana Kuznetsova.
The textbook covers the information required for studies and clinical practice: ethnology, pathogenesis, clinical presentation, diagnostics, treatment and prevention of the new coronavirus infection Covid-19.
The textbook offers review questions, tests, and tasks. The target audience of the book is the students of the Institute of Medicine, yet the textbook will be beneficial for practicing physicians as well.
“The principal goal of this textbook is to describe and summarize the plentitude of guidelines, current scientific data, etc. The book is an essence of the data on the new coronavirus infection, main protocols for diagnostics and treatment of the Covid-19.
On the one hand, there is a pandemic that affects millions of people, claims many lives, harms the society on the whole, yet for medicine and medical science this is a time for learning something new: new virus with unpredictable properties, constantly changing details of clinical picture, development of new drug products and vaccines, new findings in studying the changes in organs, etc.
I think that there is a need for new textbooks on various aspects of this new infection,” commented Tatiana Kuznetsova.
