PetrSU continues to conduct successful cooperation with Sirius University. PetrSU Artificial Intelligence Center with the involvement of leading scientists from the Institute of Mathematics and Information Technologies, the Institute of Physics and Technology, the Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences implements interaction in the field of robotics technologies.

A group of PetrSU undergraduate and postgraduate students (Nikita Remshu, Georgy Safonov, Ksenia Gladunova who are the first-year Master’s Degree program in the Applied Mathematics and Computer Science; Alexander Baranovsky, a first-year Master's Degree student in Instrument Engineering Programme;  Grigory Rego (the head of the students group, a 3rd year postgraduate student in Mathematical Modeling, Numerical Techniques and Software Systems Programme) takes part in the educational module "Mathematical problems of mobile robotics: navigation, autonomy and motion control under communication constraints" (Sirius University). Students successfully passed a harsh selection: 3 candidates per 1 place (147 applications for 50 places).

Some of the introductory lectures have already taken place within the educational module. The lecturers are big experts in the field of artificial intelligence and cybernetics: Alexey Matveev, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, the Head of the Department of Theoretical Cybernetics, St. Petersburg State University; Alexander Fradkov, Doctor of Engineering, Professor of St. Petersburg State University; Alexander Pogromsky, Associate Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department at Eindhoven University of Technology (the Netherlands).

On the first day, we had a very interesting lecture on the emergence of the cybernetics and artificial intelligence concept, especially - the stages of their development in Russia. It was also very useful to strengthen the course knowledge with the mathematical foundations of robotics.

− shared Nikita Remshu.

Based on the results of the training, PetrSU aims to involve the students into research activities at the Robotic Laboratory of PetrSU. The knowledge gained at the lectures will significantly improve the quality of students' final thesis.
