Webinar in English for Russian Researchers

The European Union Delegation to the Russian Federation jointly with ERC and ERCEA organized a webinar for Russian researchers "European Research Council Webinar For Researches in Russia: ERC Grant Schemes, Grantee's Experience And Evaluator Perspectives".

Irina Chepurina, a PhD student, senior teacher of the Department of German Philology and Scandinavian Studies of the Institute of Philology, took part in the webinar.

Among the participants of the webinar were Nektarios Tavernarakis, Vice President of the European Research Council (ERC), Irina Kuklina, Executive Director of the International Center for Innovation in Science, Technology and Educationm and Richard Burger, Research and Innovation Counselor at the Delegation of the European Commission to the Russian Federation .

During the webinar, the European Research Council, on the basis of peer reviewed projects implemented in various scientific fields, presented several grants: an ERC Starting Grant, an ERC Consolidator Grant, an ERC Advanced Grant and a synergistic grant (ERC Synergy Grant) for interdisciplinary research.

It was noted that any research applying for a grant must be carried out in a country that is the EU's member or an associate member. Alisa Rajewski, Head of Sector for Humanities of the European Research Council Executive Agency, delivered a lecture about the research funding mechanism and provided some practical information, in particular, how to apply for a grant.

The webinar participants had a chance to listen to valuable recommendations from Alexey Starobinsky, ERC Panel Member, and Evgeny Skvortsov, the 2020 ERC grantee.

Participants of the webinar asked questions on the topic and pointed out the advantages and prospects that are provided by the ERC grants.
