International Conference Low-Rise Wood Buildings
The Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences held an international research and practice conference “Low-Rise Wood Buildings: economics, architecture, and resource-saving technologies”.
The conference convened over 60 people from Petrozavodsk (Petrozavodsk State University), Murmansk (Murmansk State Technical University), Norway (Arctic University of Norway, UiT), and Finland (University of Oulu, schools of Joensuu and Tampere).
For the third year, the conference is held with the support of the international project KO1089 Green Arctic Building –GrAB, implemented within the Kolarctic CBC Program.
This year the conference consisted of two sections. The first section featured reports of the teachers of the partner-universities. Among the reporters were the teachers of the Arctic University of Norway, University of Oulu, Murmansk State Technical University, and Petrozavodsk State Universities.
The moderators of the section were the Associate Professor of the Department of Technology and Management in Construction of the Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences, KO1089 project manager Aleksandr Kuzmenkov, and the senior teacher of the Department of Technology and Management in Forest Industry Complex of the Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences Anastasiia Ioffe.
The second section included the reports of students and Master’s Degree students of Petrozavodsk State University, as well as the Finnish participants: Marina TImonen (Metsakylan yhtenaiskoulu, Tampere) and Olesya Agapova (Joensuun Lyseon Lukio, Joensuu). The moderators of the section were the Associate Professors of the Department of Technology and Management in Construction Maria Zaitseva and Yulia Nikonova.
