PetrSU Students Participated in "The Power of Reconnection” Conference
The 1st year students of the Department of German Philology and Scandinavian studies (“Swedish Language and Literature, English Language”) attended the International Conference "The Power of Reconnection", organized by Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution on Zoom.
During the conference, students took part in the section “Young People's Experience, the Pandemic and Life Chances" that was dedicated to the influence of the pandemic on the young people’s life.
Jo Bibby, the Director of Health at the Health Foundation, delivered a lecture on how will young people’s experience of the pandemic would affected their future life chances.
The discussion also covered the challenges that educational institutions faced during the pandemic, so it was interesting to point out the similarities and differences in Scottish and Russian online learning. For the first time, the students were involved in the work of an international conference actively by asking questions during the discussion.
Irina Chepurina, senior teacher of the Department of German Philology and Scandinavian Studies of the Institute of Philology, received some feedback in English; most of the students noted that participation in this conference was useful and informative.
The topic of the conference is very relevant, that’s why it was interesting to take part in it. It is especially great that everyone was so engaged in the discussion, thus you would like to think about the discussed issues again in your free time,
- said Alina Bezmen, the 1st year student of “Swedish Language and Literature, English Language”.
