PetrSU at the 10th Russian Congress of Young Scientists

The National University of Science and Technology MISIS hosted the most important event for the young scientists’ community – the 10th Russian Congress of Young Scientists, which convened representatives of councils of young scientists and student scientific societies, winners and finalists of the “Science” track of the “Leaders of Russia” contest, as well as state scholarship holders.

The event was organized by the Coordination Council for Youth Affairs in the Sphere of Science and Education with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, NUST MISIS, Russian Science Foundation and Science-ID platform.

The participants of the Congress were shortlisted by the results of expert selection among 600 applications. Petrozavodsk State University was represented by Ekaterina Serova, the analyst of the Arctic Center, teacher of the Department of World History, Political Studies and International Relations of the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences.

The event inaugurated with the address of the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Andrey Fursenko. He welcomed the participants and noted that today science is the determining factor for the development of the society and country.

The Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov noted that Russian young scientists can continue cooperation with foreign colleagues, including within the megagrant program.

The program of the Congress included work meetings, topical discussions, lectures and workshops. The Congress featured platforms for discussion of best practices of the regions in implementation of scientific, academic and educational projects.

Ekaterina Serova presented a project initiative aimed to develop forms of interaction between young scientists of the Northern European Open Research and Education Consortium (NEOPEC) to address the problems of science and business, as well as to raise the awareness of foreign participants of the project from friendly partner countries of the preferential mode for business development in the Arctic regions of the Republic.
