Ambassadors of the Russian Language and Culture to the World
In December 25 - 30, Turkey hosted an educational program "The Russian Ambassadors to the World".
There were students from Tula, Ryazan, Belgorod, Omsk, Kazan, Irkutsk, Izhevsk and Petrozavodsk.
Anna Soboleva, a specialist of the Preparatory Faculty and a teacher at the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and Applied Linguistics, became a member of the expedition. For several days, the ambassadors held classes with students from Turkish educational institutions.
As part of the educational program, volunteers held lessons on Russian culture and New Year holiday traditions. Ambassadors worked in 5 colleges and taught 28 lessons for 365 students. At the lessons, the students were immersed into the atmosphere of the Russian New Year, learned new words, played a quiz, and made a Christmas tree toy. Such classes help students from different countries to learn Russia better and increase the motivation to study the Russian language and Russian culture. The students were very interested to see young and energetic people teaching them unusual lessons. They were able to practice Russian with a native speaker.
For me it was the second expedition to Antalya. This time, I was a Methodist Ambassador and helped others with design and conducting the lessons. This is a very helpful experience.
Of course, I would like to highlight the excellent organization of the expedition. We were able to effectively conduct classes and got acquainted with the ancient city of Termessos, which was built in the 6th century BC!
After the expedition, the rector of PetrSU received a thankful letter from Alexander Babaev, acting Chairman of the The Coordination Council of the Organization of Russian Compatriots in Turkey, for the work of Anna Soboleva during the educational expedition of the program “The Russian Ambassadors to the World”.
