PetrSU has entered into a cooperation agreement with a long-time partner of the Institute of Philology for educational project activities - Secondary School No. 70 in Minsk named after L.N. Gurtieva (Republic of Belarus).

The school director, Evgenia Veniaminovna Rudova, together with representatives of the public organization "International Pedagogical Club" visited the university. During the official visit, a cooperation agreement was signed and a working meeting was held on joint project activities. The meeting was attended by Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Work of PetrSU Vasily Katarov, Director of the Institute of Philology Oksana Abramova, Deputy Director of the Institute of Philology Anna Skoropadskaya and the Director of the Humanitarian Innovation Park of PetrSU Irina Suvorova.

A separate point of the visit program was a meeting of representatives of the delegation with teachers and students who took part in the events organized by the Belarusian side.

Over several years of cooperation within the framework of youth projects conducted by the International Pedagogical Club under the patronage of the Russkiy Mir Foundation, more than thirty PetrSU students visited Minsk. International Forum "Youth of Eurasia - for Peace!", International School of Youth Journalism, International School of Youth Diplomacy - these projects, attracting high school and university students from dozens of countries, not only developed certain professional and communication skills in the children, but also enriched them with numerous friendly connections, taught them to love our big and small Motherland, and clearly showed how we can and should preserve the culture and history of our country.

Evgenia Veniaminovna noted:

“The Republic of Belarus and Karelia have so many things in common that, without a doubt, our cooperation is more than friendly: so many of our colleagues and friends here in Karelia have family ties with Belarus. We have in many ways a common history, a common destiny. And common goals. The goal of all our projects is to convey to young people the value of world: world as a place and world as relationships. This value is most effectively realized through friendship and through effective involvement in the history of one’s family, one’s region, one’s country. All our projects are about this. And the Teacher plays a special role in establishing these connections. Therefore, it is so important that school and university teachers actively interact in the design and implementation of projects. After all, university teachers not only transmit knowledge, but also obtain it. We really need the scientific experience that representatives of the Institute of Philology and the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences have.”
