Scientific and Practical Seminar "Chinese Literature of the 7th–16th Centuries."
The Reading Hall of the Scientific Library of PetrSU hosted a scientific and practical seminar dedicated to the history of Chinese literature.
The seminar was organized by the Department of Foreign History of PetrSU and held as part of the course “History of the Middle Ages of Eastern Countries” to introduce future history teachers to the treasures of medieval works of art, and, no less important, to our compatriots, brilliant translators and commentators of these texts.
Students of group 423 made presentations on the poetry and prose of the Tang Dynasty, the works of the great writers Wu Cheng'en and Shi Nai'an.
Natalia Smirnova, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign History, spoke about the most common occupation of the Chinese - literary creativity, the original relationship of Chinese writing and literary creativity with the state system, the institution of supreme power, official beliefs and ritual practices.
The Scientific Library of PetrSU has prepared an exhibition “Poetry and Wisdom of China”.
