February 8 – Day of Russian Science
Congratulations from V.S. Siunev, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research of PetrSU.
“Dear colleagues – professors, associate professors, teachers, staff members, veterans, students, Master’s students, and postgraduate students of Petrozavodsk State University! From the bottom of my heart, I would like to congratulate you on the Day of Russian Science! Today’s holiday holds special significance as it commemorates the establishment of the Russian Academy of Sciences 300 years ago, followed by the founding of the first Russian university.
Modern universities have not only become the main platforms for training highly qualified personnel, but also the engines of scientific and innovative development in the country. Petrozavodsk State University is rightly positioned as a leading scientific and educational center in the European North of Russia. The research and development carried out by our scientists in the fields of information technologies, microelectronics, biomedicine, food security, and engineering sciences make a significant contribution to the scientific and technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation. The University’s scientific schools focusing on the history of the Second World War, Russian and foreign philology, national languages, and pedagogy are widely recognized in the country. In recent years, linguists, lawyers, and economists have achieved significant scientific results. Our researchers have also shown high scientific achievements in the field of physical culture, sports, and tourism.
Petrozavodsk State University is proud of its fellow scientists and the high demand for the scientific advancements made by its teams. It is especially encouraging to note that distinguished scientists lead these teams, while their driving force comes from young individuals.
I would like to express my gratitude to all the scientists of PetrSU for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to benefiting the university, the republic, and the country! I encourage young researchers, graduate students, postgraduates, masters, and students taking their first steps in the field of science to believe in their abilities! May luck accompany you on your journey of knowledge and innovation, with victories and successful projects lying ahead!
I wish all members of the scientific community, working in various disciplines and representing different generations, good health, vitality, the conquering of new heights in scientific pursuits, groundbreaking discoveries, significant accomplishments, and recognition in the field of research and development.”
