Student of the Department of Political and Social Sciences of PetrSU at the BRICS Expert School
Once again, Egor Yurusov, a 3rd year student of the International Relations major, took an active part in the work of the school.
As part of the BRICS Expert School, young leaders from different regions of Russia deepened their knowledge of interaction within the BRICS association in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres. They also took part in discussions, trainings, expanded their professional horizons and developed communication skills. The participants were mentored by leading Russian and foreign experts with significant experience in studying BRICS issues: teachers from MGIMO, St. Petersburg State University, Moscow State University, etc.
Moreover, renowned foreign scientists took part in the event, including representatives from China, South Africa and India, who shared their knowledge and experience with the participants. Particular emphasis in the school program was placed on diplomacy of the second track.
Part of the event was dedicated to the international youth forum of public diplomacy InterYes! 4.0, which took place on the fields of the BRICS School. InterYes is an annual platform for discussing current issues in the development of public diplomacy in the world. Participation in the forum made a significant contribution to the development of the idea of forming the BRICS Youth Assembly, which found support from participants from Slovakia, South Africa, India and Russia.
The official part of the school also included a cultural program. Visiting the Simbirtsit Museum, the Lenin House Museum, the Balalaika Museum, the gymnasium where V.I. Lenin studied, left a positive impression and helped me learn a lot of new and interesting things about the region far from Karelia.
“Participation in the expert school helped to better understand the position of the BRICS countries, global trends in world development, exchange ideas with youth activists from different countries, and also gain knowledge about the rich history and culture of Ulyanovsk,
– Egor shared his impressions.
