Results of the 76th Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists

07 May 2024
From April 1 to April 21, the 76th All-Russian (with international participation) scientific conference of students and young scientists was held at PetrSU.

In 2024, the conference program included 133 sections and 1869 reports. During the work of the section, 89% of the reports were presented. The speakers were 1705 people - 129 schoolchildren of grades 9-11, 1453 students, 28 interns, 62 post graduate students and 19 young scientists.

86.51% of speakers are from PetrSU. In addition, colleagues from 132 external organizations were represented at the conference - speakers, scientific supervisors, section co-moderators, and jury members. Nonresident conference participants represented 19 regions of the Russian Federation (including Karelia) and 2 foreign countries: 36 universities, 5 institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, 8 secondary vocational education organizations, 39 schools, as well as 3 ministries, 1 legislative body, 11 cultural institutions.

Within the framework of the conference, the scientific councils of the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences, the Institute of Philology, the Zilber Medical Institute, the Institute of Physics and Technology decided to hold Science Days in their institutes (April 17, 16, 18 and 10, respectively). The organization of Science Days at the institutes is a long-standing tradition, dating back to the earliest years of the conference. On this day, all sections of the institute are held, and its students are released from classes and participate in the work of the sections.

Another tradition of the conference is the organization of plenary sessions preceding the work of the sections. This year they were held at the Institute of Economics and Law (April 9), as well as at the Institute of Physics and Technology (April 10).

An important feature of this year’s conference was the section “History of parliamentarism: from origins to the future”. Dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia, it was organized by both the Parliament itself and PetrSU - the Directorate for Scientific Research, the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences, and the Institute of Economics and Law.

The conference organizing committee expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the speakers and their scientific supervisors, section moderators, jury members and all those involved for their assistance in organizing and holding the conference.
