One Hundred Questions for a Russian Student as Part of the Friendship Project

The Department of Foreign Languages and Russian as a Foreign Language for Medical Specialties of the Zilber Medical Institute organized and held a series of meetings of Indian and Russian students as part of the new project "Friendship".

The "Friendship" project is aimed at establishing friendly ties between international students studying at PetrSU and Russian students from different institutes of PetrSU. The teachers of the Department O.M. Sherekhova, N.D. Zhilina, L.N. Yusupova and M.O. Artemyeva organized the first round of meetings, which was held under the name "100 questions to a Russian student". These meetings were dedicated to introducing second-year Indian students to Russian students and exchanging contacts for holding subsequent joint events.

Students of the Institute of Economics and Law, the Institute of History, Political and Social Sciences, and the Zilber Medical Institute answered questions from Indian students about the Russian mentality, family and cultural traditions, national cuisine, holidays, sports and much more. In turn, Indian students willingly shared information about their country, its traditions and customs, talked about themselves, their families, hobbies, favorite food, holidays. Students showed each other photos of families, friends, landmarks, sang popular songs in their native languages, took joint photos and exchanged contacts. During the meetings, everyone tried to speak Russian, but when difficulties arose, they had to switch to English. Indian students taught Russian students some words in Hindi, such as: "hello", "how are you", "thank you", and Russian students taught them popular words of youth slang. All meetings were held in a friendly and pleasant atmosphere, as evidenced by the feedback from students on both sides.

The Department of Foreign Languages and Russian as a Foreign Language for Medical Specialties invites everyone to join the Russian Club, which will include various meetings, interactive classes, competitions, cultural and educational events. This will not only help international students improve their Russian speaking skills and learn more about the culture, history, and traditions of our country, but will also contribute to the development of friendly relations between Russian and international students.
