Two-week Academic Internship at One of the Largest Universities in China
Tianjin Normal University is one of the best pedagogical universities in northern China, one of the leading and prestigious centers for teaching Chinese to foreign students.
As a national office for teaching Chinese to foreigners, the university is the base for conducting HSK Chinese language texts, as well as one of 9 national universities that conduct programs for training volunteers to teach Chinese outside China. The university campus occupies more than 680,000 square meters, and its territory includes academic buildings, several canteens, cafes, banks, shops, sports grounds, tennis courts, a library and a post office.
In May 2024, Eva Radetskaya successfully passed the HSK-4 Chinese language qualification exam. For two weeks, from November 3 to 17, Eva will study Chinese according to a specially developed program by the university with maximum immersion in the language environment and culture of China. The internship program, among other things, includes 40 hours of practical classes in Chinese (advanced stage), classes in traditional Chinese culture (calligraphy, painting, wushu, tea ceremony art, etc.) and excursions to various parts of China. Each internship participant who successfully completes the program will receive an official university certificate.
This trip was made possible thanks to the successful partnership of PetrSU with the Association for the Development of Sinology in Russia. In 2023, teachers of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and Applied Linguistics of the Institute of Philology took part in the scientific and practical conference "Forum of Sinologists: Current Issues in Training Specialists with Chinese in Russia", organized by the Association for the Development of Sinology. The forum is the most representative congress of specialists professionally engaged in the Chinese language in Russia. This year, department staff and students also plan to take part in it.
