Indian Students of PetrSU Win 'Reading Mikhail Lermontov's Poetry with Foreigners' Contest
The contest was dedicated to the 210th anniversary of Mikhail Lermontov.
The participants posted videos of their recitals of Lermontov's poetry on their social network pages. The organizers of the contest reposted the videos they liked. Then a vote was organized to select the finalists.
Ghazal Rana and Ankit Tripathi recited the poems 'The Sail' and 'The Sky and the Stars'. As a result of the voting, they became finalists in the nomination 'Adults (Russian as a Foreign Language)' and winners of the contest.
The Indian students approached the task very creatively and responsibly which helped them to compete with participants from other countries. In total, more than 90 videos with poetry recitals were submitted to compete in the nomination 'Adults (Russian as a Foreign Language)'.
Anastasiya Amelina is grateful to the organizers of the competition and her students, who demonstrated a good level of Russian, showed a sincere interest in Russian culture and also thoughtfully and sensitively treated the poetry of Mikhail Lermontov.
The contest committee congratulated the students and thanked their teacher Anastasiya Amelina for promoting Russian literature among international students and expressed hope for further cooperation.
