Presentation of PetrSU for Applicants from China
The event was organized by Novosibirsk State University and Izhevsk State Technical University named after M.T. Kalashnikov with the support of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, the Association of Pre-University Educational Institutions of Russia and China and the Representative Office of Universities of the Novosibirsk Region and the Udmurt Republic in China.
Six universities presented their universities and programs for Chinese schoolchildren and their parents and for Chinese recruiting agencies in Chinese. Petrozavodsk State University took part in the project for the second time. Ms. Wang Shichu, a Teacher of Chinese at the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and Applied Linguistics, spoke about Karelia and Petrozavodsk State University and presented a new program at the Institute of Philology in the field of study 45.03.02 "Linguistics" ("Russian as a Foreign Language (for foreign citizens"). The program provides basic linguistic training in two languages - Russian as a foreign language and English. Upon completion of the Bachelor's degree, the graduate gets the opportunity to teach Russian as a foreign language on a professional basis from scratch, including using an intermediary language.
After all the speeches, Ms. Wang Shichu answered questions from future applicants about the availability of places in dormitories, medical insurance, adaptation of international students at PetrSU, the safety of our city and the weather in winter.
The online meeting and preparation of the presentation were also attended by the Head of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and Applied Linguistics at the Institute of Philology, PhD, Associate Professor A.A. Kotov and staff of the Directorate for International Affairs A.A. Rogozin, N.V. Karakina and E.S. Ivanova.
