Cooperation of PetrSU with Educational Organizations of the Republic of Kazakhstan
The festival's goal is not only to attract attention and interest to the exact sciences, but also to integrate and popularize Russian higher education in friendly countries. The event was held with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo in Kazakhstan, and one of the co-organizers of the festival was the Kazan Education Pre-University Training Center, a reliable partner of PetrSU of over 5 years.
For the first time, PetrSU representatives took part in the festival. Head of the Department of General Chemistry, Professor V.V. Vapirov and Associate Professor of the Department of Botany and Plant Physiology of the Institute of Biology, Ecology and Agricultural Technologies V.I. Androsova prepared assignments in chemistry and biology for the comprehensive Olympiad "MYTH". The jury of the competition included the Head of the Directorate for International Affairs M.S. Gvozdeva and the Director of the Institute T.Yu. Kuchko.
On the first day, career guidance events were held at the festival site, during which M.S. Gvozdeva introduced future applicants from leading lyceums and gymnasiums of Almaty to the educational programs of PetrSU, living conditions and adaptation of international students, social and cultural services and infrastructure of the university and Petrozavodsk. T.Yu. Kuchko presented the Institute of Biology, Ecology and Agrotechnology and told about the main areas of training at the institute. The children were especially interested in two areas: "Biotechnology" and "Ecology".
As part of the festival, PetrSU organized Olympiad in Biology and Chemistry for 10-11 grade students. A total of 53 schoolchildren took part in the Olympiad: 29 in biology and 24 in chemistry. Analysis of the work showed that the Olympiad participants have a fairly high level of knowledge in the chosen subjects, which will allow them to pass the entrance examinations of Petrozavodsk State University.
Representatives of PetrSU held talks with the management of Lyceum No. 134 in Almaty on continuing cooperation in the field of career guidance and work with talented graduates in the chemical and biological profile.
