PetrSU Student Wins Rosatom Person of the Year Award
Evgeny Goncharov, a Master's student at the Institute of Forestry, Mining and Construction Sciences of Petrozavodsk State University, won in the nomination of the mechanical engineering division "Engineer-technologist". He works at the Rosatom mechanical engineering plant "Petrozavodskmash" and is working on a project to create a system for automated detection of weld defects using digitized X-ray images. This project is being implemented within the framework of Grants from the Head of the Republic of Karelia with the support of the Venture Investment Fund of the Republic of Karelia.
“I did not expect it, but it was very nice. I came to work at the plant after my first year. After educational practice. I liked it. We have a good team. I plan to embark on postgraduate studies. And work at the enterprise.
