PetrSU Student Completed Studies at a Chinese University

Arina Tipunova, a second-year student of the Institute of Philology studying in the field of Russian as a foreign language, Chinese language, took a short-term summer course in Chinese language at Northeast University of Economics (东北财经大学) in Dalian, China.

Northeast University of Finance and Economics (Dongbei University of Finance and Economics, DUFE) is a multidisciplinary university in Dalian, Liaoning Province, northeast China, founded in 1952. Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) is located in a picturesque part of Dalian, in the west of Xinghai Park, one of the national natural treasures. DUFE campus is famous for its well-kept and calm atmosphere, which makes it an attractive place to study and inspire students from all over the country and the world.

Since 1994, DUFE has been actively developing international relations. The university cooperates with 78 educational institutions and 1 international organization from 18 countries and regions. International programs cover courses, teaching system, language of instruction and management of the educational process. This ensures a high level of integration of students into the international academic environment.

Arina Tipunova shared her impressions:

“This trip allowed me to fully immerse myself in the language environment, which helped improve my language skills, better understand the culture of China and the mentality of its residents. We had Chinese classes almost every day, as well as special lessons on culture. There I learned about traditional Chinese dress - hanfu, tea ceremony rules, Chinese musical instruments and much more.

In my free time, I traveled around Dalian every day, discovering new beautiful places. The most memorable for me was Black Mountain (大黑山) - from its top there is a stunning view of the city.

The trip became an unforgettable experience for me and an important step in learning the Chinese language and culture.

Earlier, 2nd and 3rd year students of the Institute of Philology, majoring in "Russian as a foreign language, Chinese language" took part in the international "Global Summer School of Wuhan University", which was held in July 2025 by the Institute of Foreign Languages and Literature of Wuhan University (Wuhan, China). Studying Chinese at PetrSU is a great opportunity to discover the world of China and take a step into the future!
